Remove damaging tramp iron from high volume flows of grain, chemicals, foods and powders to protect milling, processing and packaging machinery.

Eriez developed the Deep Reach Magnet to remove tramp iron from heavy flows of materials, which normally bridge or choke when processed through magnetic grate separators. Even products that vary greatly in size, such as three-inch (76 mm) lumps down to dust, are easily handled by the Deep Reach.

Products from which unwanted iron has been successfully removed range from cullet to chemicals such as sodium carbonates and phosphates from corn to powdered cheese, sugar, starch and flavorings. The Deep Reach has succeeded where other separators have failed to maintain production rates in handling powdery, moist or lumpy materials.

Effective removal of ferrous contaminants is obtained because the two large permanent magnets project a powerful, deep reaching field that penetrates the product flow to pull out tramp iron. On light flows of small particle size, quantities of fine iron can also be removed.

In processing lines where there is no room for conventional grate magnets or magnetic humps, it is often possible to install the Deep Reach Magnet; its compact housing is only ten inches (254 mm) high. There are 1-1/2 inch (38 mm) wide flanges top and bottom to aid installation, or optional adapters can be provided. The twin access doors are attached with De-Sta-Co clamps on both the front or the back of the unit so accumulated tramp iron can be removed. Optional hinged magnets are also available.
